He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wells and Gertrude Precha Jones; his siblings, Betty Jean Lomax and Clifton C. Wells; and his stepfather Ernest Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Jean Crawford Wells; his stepchildren, Constance Moton of Greenwood, George Ware of Greenwood and Tammy Aiken of Greenwood; and his siblings, Linda Jones Williams of Greenwood, James Ernest Wells of Greenwood, Willie R. Wells of Greenwood and Jackie Lee Jones of Greenwood. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
