He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon L. Freeman and Grace Pruett Freeman; his brother Ralph Freeman; and his niece Stacey Freeman. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his sister Sharon F. Cowan (Thomas) of Greenwood; and his nephews, Danny Freeman (Jennifer) of Ninety Six, Matthew Cowan of Greenwood, Yorkie and Buddy.
