Nina Mobley Downey Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Nina Mobley Downey of Greenwood, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 12, 2026 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her husband Paul Silas Downey of Greenwood; her parents, Wilbur Lacey Mobley and Fleta Pauline Grooms; her sons, Owen Downey "Cow Patty", Paul L. Downey, Dennis Downey and Jeff Downey; her siblings, Eunice Caldwell, Lucille Rollerson, Fulton Mobley, Edward Mobley and Phillip Mobley; her son-in-law Wes Taylor; her granddaughter Nina Bates; and her great grandchild Alex Bates.

She is survived by: her children, Pam D. Young (Ricky), Nancy Wolfe (Alan) and David Downey (Viola); her sisters, Jewel Becham, Ernestine Underhill, Joanna Dotson and Janice Kerce; and her nieces, Gail Calloway and Linda Richardson. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
