She was predeceased by: her father Elbert Elford Bowers; her husband Rudolph "Rudy" Nathan Sims, Jr.; her stepfather Scott Cronic; and her stepbrother Jake Cooper. She is survived by: her mother Inez Nalley Cronic (Sammy Gunnels); her close friend Dwight Funderburk; her children, Brittany Sims Dunlap (Terence) and Brooks Sims; her grandchildren, Rudy Mac Dunlap, Calhoun Dunlap, Brittany, Brooks and Teresa Owens; her great grandchildren, Chip Funderburk (Katie), Shay Twiggs (Sammy) and Wes Funderburk (Ashley); her brother Stanley Bowers (Pam); her stepmother Bobbie Bowers; her stepsisters, Donna McNeely and Cheryl Simmons (Benjy); Mary Wynn, Evans, Hattie, Lainey, Mabrey and Madison.
