He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Balent Sr. and Margaret Maslanik Balent; and his siblings, Dr. Alvan Balent Sr. and Eleanor Balent. He is survived by: his wife Carole Hopkins Balent; his children, Dr. Laura Balent of Bellevue, Washington, Andrew Balent III (Jean) of Fort Mill and Matthew Balent (Renita) of Salisbury; his grandchildren, Maxwell Cooper-Bruch (Helena), Clarice Bruch, Alecia Balent, Rhiannon Krähe and Corvus Balent; his stepdaughter Jodie Bradley (Steven) of Pauline; his stepgrandchildren, Thomas Bradley (Brandi), Virginia Dotson (Zack) and David Bradley (Katy); his grandchildren, Kaleb Bradley, Sabrina Bradley and Rowan Dotson; his stepson Jason Holmes (Pat) of Easley; and his stepgranddaughter Kayla Holmes.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Wood Mortuary, Inc. (300 W Poinsett St, Greer, SC 29650). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
