With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bertha Jane Bayne of Greer, South Carolina, who passed away on December 7, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Bertha Jane may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Simmons and Mattie Lou Kemp Simmons; her husband Arthur Lewis Bayne; and her son James Harlan Bayne. She is survived by: her daughter Martha Elkins (Anthony "Tony"); her granddaughter Brooke Elkins; her great grandchild Cade Ledford; and her brother Johnny Simmons.
