He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl McAllister Sr. and Gladys Partridge McAllister; his former life partner Mary Alice McAllister; his daughter Allison Erwin McAllister Durham; his grandson Walker Davis Durham; his sister Margaret Gosnell; and his stepson Christopher Eramo.

He is survived by : his wife Carolyn Shovan Eramo; his daughter Carla Hunt (Phil) of Fountain Inn; his sister Juanita Hanvey of Anderson; his grandchildren, Max, Avery Hunt of Fountain Inn, Jenna Crosby (John) of Greenville and Haley Farmer (Alex) of Greenville; his great grandchild Ember Virginia Crosby of Greenville; and his stepchildren, Shannon Courtney of Florida and Dillon Eramo of Pennsylvania.
