We bid farewell to David Childress (Greer, South Carolina), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 14, 2025 at the age of 96. David touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though David has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his wife Agnes Childress; his parents, Franklin James and Alice Blanchette Childress; and his brothers, Paul Childress and Bill Childress.
He is survived by: his sons, David "Chuck" Charles Childress, Jr. (Kym) of Easley and Chris Childress (Tammy) of Greer; his grandchildren, Martha Childress of Greenville and Workman Childress (Morgan) of Simpsonville; his stepgrandchildren, Jordan Janushkowsky (Jordan) of San Pedro, Jacob Burgess (Isabela) of Piedmont and Hunter Burgess of Taylors; and his great grandchild Shepherd Childress. He is also survived by eight step great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Wood Memorial Park (863 Gap Creek Rd, Duncan, SC 29334).
