She was predeceased by: her parents, Jefferson Alexander Long and Nell Brown Long; and her brother Jerry Long. She is survived by: her husband Edward "Pete" Thompson, Jr.; her sons, Edward Thompson (Ed) and Thomas A. Thompson (Alexis); her grandchildren, Ward, Charlotte and Parker; and her sister Anne Reneau.
