He is survived by: his wife Catherine Ruth Haney Auerhamer; his sons, Jeffrey Auerhamer of Greenville and Marc Auerhamer (Kelly) of Colorado; his stepchildren, Ashley Murphree (Matthias) of Piedmont and Richie Tucker of Greenville; his sister Kay Auerhamer; and his brothers-in-law, Ray Haney and Calvin Haney of Greer. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clemson University Foundation, P.O. Box 1889, Clemson, South Carolina 29633-1889.
