He was predeceased by: his wife Cynthia Elizabeth Lebrun Garrett; his parents, John Garrett and Lois Heidy Garrett; and his brother Mark Garrett. He is survived by: his children, Amanda Heier, Christopher Garrett, James Smith and Joshua "Gilligan" Garrett; his siblings, John Garrett, Donna Garrett and Mary Lou Young; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Smith, Oscar Garrett, Dorothy Garrett, Joshua Garrett, Jr. and William Garrett; and his great grandchildren, Cheyanne Eisner, Bentlee Bogan, Michael Smith and Paislee Sanders.
