He was predeceased by: his parents, James Carter and Velda Ellen Turner Medlin; his siblings, Roger Medlin, Terry Medlin, Gary Medlin, Johnny Medlin, Buddy Medlin, Betty Bishop, Joyce Clardy and Lynn Hood; and his former wife Shirley Mae Bridwell Medlin.

He is survived by: his wife Doris Ann Godfrey Medlin; his daughters, Gail Miller (Al) of Greer, Pamela Renee Pratt of Greenville and Patricia Atkins (Wade) of Greer; and his sisters, Dorothy Smith of Easley and Becky Gee of North Carolina. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
