He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Sanders and Wilma Smith Sanders; his daughter Debbie Rhodes; and his siblings, Marcene Flowers and Larry Sanders.
He is survived by: his sons, Don Sanders, Jr. (Annette) of Aiken and Mike Sanders of St. Simons Island; and his brother Ted Sanders (Dorothy) of Greenville. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
