He was predeceased by: his wife Freida Wooten Hairston; his parents, Albert L. Hairston and Margie Smith Hairston; his siblings, Harold Hairston and Helen Pinson; and his granddaughter Stephanie Hairston.
He is survived by: his children, Vickie H. McGee (Jim) of Greer, Jimmy Hairston (Patsy) of Taylors and Greg Hairston (Crystal) of Greer; his granddaughters, Megan McGee, Jessica Hairston, Melissa McGee and Mary Beth McGee Rush (Philip); his great grandchildren, Braden Hairston, Levi Rush and Silas Rush; his stepgrandchildren, Heather Kalk (David) and Owen Bruce (Michelle); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Audrey Kalk, Gracie Bruce, Kae Bruce, Logan Jordan and Khloe Miller.
