With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Jewell C. DeYoung Sr. (Greer, South Carolina), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Jewell left this world on June 10, 2025 at the age of 92, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Renee Williams DeYoung; his mother Ruth Annie Christopher DeYoung; his daughter Kimberly DeYoung Sparks; his son-in-law Phillip Sparks; and his siblings, Marion "Curley" DeYoung, Ray DeYoung, Doc DeYoung, Thelma Owens, Margaret Bright and Lou Joner.
He is survived by: his sons, Chris DeYoung (Joyce) of Greer, Rev. Brett DeYoung of Columbia and Scott DeYoung of Greer; his grandchildren, Ashley Tuck (Neil), Todd DeYoung, Jeremy DeYoung (Aleisha), Nathan DeYoung (Katie), Corbin DeYoung (Gia), Aimee Smith (Ricco Sanders), Dale Smith and Eli Smith (Breahna); and his great grandchildren, Michael DeYoung, Andre Gaston, Sage Gaston, Jackson Tuck, Beason Tuck, Brentley Smith, Parker Williamson, Waylon Smith, Keegan DeYoung and Lennon DeYoung.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Apalache Baptist Church (1915 Gap Creek Rd, Greer, SC 29651). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
