He was predeceased by: his parents, Tolbert Edward Waddell, Sr. and Sarah Aycock Waddell; and his brother Louie "Lou" Waddell. He is survived by: his wife Lydia Waddell; his daughters, Melissa Adams (Glenn) and Emily Brown (Phil); his grandchildren, Trey Adams, Lillian Sharp (Spencer), Joel Adams and Henry Brown; and his siblings, Toby Waddell, Frank Waddell, Joye Leopard and Jill Jacobs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Washington Baptist Church, Hammer and Nails, 3500 N. Highway 14, Greer, South Carolina 29651.
