He was predeceased by: his daughter Kristen Lape; his former wife Margery Coon Kloepfer; and his sister Ruth Ann Peters. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his daughters, Karen Kloepfer and Kendra Knebel (Brian); his stepdaughters, Jessica Howard, Siri Howard (Max) and Joanna Feuer (Alan); and his sisters, Jean Watts and Karol Kloepfer. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Westminster Presbyterian Church (17 William St, Auburn, NY 13021).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John's name to Hospice of Central NY, Greater Good Charities and The Wilderness Society.
