He is survived by : his spouse Dedria Motts Mitchell; his parents, Joseph B. Mitchell, Sr. and Gayle Brockman Mitchell; his children, Chrissy Mitchell (Matt), Todd Mitchell and Kayla Mitchell Phillips (Nick); his stepfather Nathan Smith; and his close friends, Derek Godfrey, Scott Steadman, Charlie Carter, Tim Moody of Todd Atkins, L. D, Starnes and Anthony "Flipper" Hartwell. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
