He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert A. Foster and Ernestine Compton Foster; his daughter Tammy Rena Foster; and his sisters, Hortense Smith and Thalia Perry.

He is survived by: his wife Thelma Marie Rainwater Foster; his sons, Travis Rigby Foster of Greer, Timothy Rigby Foster of Pacolet and Gary Douglas Foster (Theresa) of Lyman; and his sisters, Elaine Copeland of West Grove and Obelia Tucker of Greer. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren.
