He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlton Wood and Janie Waddell Wood; and his sister Jane Millwood. He is survived by: his wife Dale Atkins Wood of Greer; and his children, Stacy Owens (Johnny) of Waterloo, Mechelle Rozema of Columbia and Brandon Wood (Karina) of Spartanburg. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
