He was predeceased by: his wife Clois Miller Sims; his parents, Sanford Sims and Mattie Nix Sims; and his siblings, Earl, Hallie and Catherine Sims Brady.
He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Wayne Sims (Darlene) of Greer, Kenneth Ray Sims (Jean) of Landrum and Carolyn Sims Howard of Taylors; and his grandchildren, Marsha Sims Justice, Josh Sims, Jake Sims and Eli Howard. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
