He is survived by: his wife Patricia Miller Watson; his children, Richard Patrick Watson (Jessica) of Taylors, SC, Genelle Owens of Taylors, SC and Tamara Burnside (Eric) of Greer, SC; and his siblings, Rev Steve Watson (Wanda) of Greer, SC, Roy Lee Watson of Greer, SC, Earl Watson of Greer, SC, Sally, Sarah Watson of Greer, SC and Patricia Watson Lane of Wellford, SC. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Fred Singleton Slumber Room of the Gilmore Mortuary (214 Memorial Dr, Greer, SC 29650). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church (413 E Poinsett St, Greer, SC 29651). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at the Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church (201 Jordan Rd, Lyman, SC 29365).
