He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeter Buckner and Lela Mae Buckner; and his siblings, McKinley "Mac" Buckner, Kermit Buckner, Ralph Buckner, Gladys Stokes and Zelma Painter.

He is survived by: his brother Ed Buckner of Ohio. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
