It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Leroy Burgess in Greer, South Carolina, born in Laurens, South Carolina, who passed away on February 19, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Dolphus E. Roy and Ola Mac Carley Burgess; and his siblings, Frank Maurice Burgess and Teresa Burgess Rosenberg. He is survived by : his wife Evelyn Curry Burgess; his daughters, Rhonda Burgess Betcher (Gregg) of Franklin and Vicky Burgess Bryant (Dwane) of Greer; his grandchildren, Ryan Christopher Betcher, Brandi Betcher Helm (Rob), Jordan Matthew Bryant and Katelyn Alexandria Bryant; and his great grandchild Colton Betcher Helm. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
