He is survived by: his wife Karen Burnett Carpenter; his children, Tasha Singleton and Jason Samuel Carpenter; and his brothers, Barry Carpenter (Rhonda) of Taylors, Tim Carpenter (Patricia) of Piedmont and Michael Carpenter (Kathy) of Williamston. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
