He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Eugene Smith, Jr. and Flossie Pearl Terry Smith; and his sister Jean T. Smith. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn L. Cartee Smith; his children, David Smith, Michael Singletary (Kelly) of Spartanburg, Carol Smith, Stephanie Davis (John) of Lyman and Teresa Olvera (Tony) of Spartanburg; and his brothers, John T. Smith of Lyman and Michael M. Smith (Ramona) of Inman. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
