He was predeceased by : his parents, Jerry Cleveland and Mamie Hempley Burnette; his wife Ruth Belcher Burnette; and his siblings, Earl Burnette, Marshall Burnette, Lewis Burnette, Lee Burnette, Velma Vaughn and Willie Mae Frady.
He is survived by : his daughter Denise B. Lee of Greer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
