He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Connie Lanham and Esther Rhodes Whitmore; his son Abraham "Abram" Lanham; and his brother Ozell Thomas Whitmore. He is survived by: his wife Adele Sloan Whitmore; his daughters, Tana Chassereau (Dale) of Greer and Dorothea Shirley (Jeff) of Greer; and his sister Barbara W. Howard (Ken). He is also survived by four grandchildren.
