Holbrook Platts Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Holbrook Platts of Hampton, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 22, 2025 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Holbrook Platts to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Trowbridge Platts and Mildred Platts; and his granddaughter Virginia Elizabeth Gilliam. He is survived by: his wife Martha Price Platts; his children, Susan Platts Gilliam (Herb) of Mount Pleasant, SC and David Holbrook Platts (Erin) of Matthews, NC; his grandchildren, Sarah Katherine McDonald (Dillon), Anna Grace Gilliam, Keely Anne Platts and Davis Holbrook Platts; his great grandchild Jane Elizabeth McDonald; and his siblings, Carl Trowbridge Platts (Barbara Lewis) and Anne Platts Rice (Ken Buck). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM at the Hampton United Methodist Church (204 Elm St W, Hampton, SC 29924). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hampton United Methodist Church, PO Box 45 Hampton, SC 29924 or to the USC Salkehatchie Martha and Holbrook Platts Scholarship, USC Salkehatchie Office of the Dean, PO Box 617 Allendale, SC 29810 which supports students from Hampton County.
