She was predeceased by: her parents, Virginia "Virgie" Freeman Terry and Ernest Terry; her husband James Irvin Cope, Sr.; her son Jacob Cope; her sister Erlene Terry Avant; and her brother-in-law Berry Avant.
She is survived by: her children, James Irvin "Jimmy" Cope, Jr. (Lisa) of Brunson, Lynn McMurray (Eugene) of Brunson and Gwen Smith (Michael Gene) of Varnville; her grandchildren, Shelley Ridge (Michael), Michael E. Smith, Jr. (Brandy), Jamison Patrick Smith (Jacqueline), Ryan C. Cope (Jessica), Selena Stone (A. J.) and Amanda R. Cope; her great grandchildren, James Perry Smith, Emily Harper Smith, James Elijah "Eli" Cope, Greyson Ridge, Payton Ridge, Reed Mitchell Stone, Carter Lee Stone and Jaley Smith; and her cousins, Donna Pitman-Thames (Ray) and Joan Brown (Robert). She is also survived by her family, church family, and friends.
