He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Summers and Annabelle Summers; his son Darren Williams; his sisters, Dorothy Whack and Lois Summers; and his siblings-in-law, Ethel Summers and Norman Walker.

He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Frasier-Summers of Hanahan, SC; his daughter Adrian Summers of New York; his siblings, Willie Summers of New York and Maella Walker of Philadelphia; and his brother-in-law Melvin Whack. He is also survived by three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
