With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter Joseph Schenning of Hanahan, South Carolina, who passed away on February 7, 2026 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Schenning and Emma Ibbitt Schenning; his wife Mary; his sons, Mark and Jim Schenning; and his brothers, Bernard Schenning and James Schenning.
He is survived by: his daughters, Chris McLean (Marshall) of Summerville, SC and Cindy Edmondson (Kirby) of Charlotte; his grandchildren, James Schenning, Chris Schenning, Mara Edmondson, Reba Fey (Logan), Margot Schenning, Nick Mclean and Adam Schenning; his great grandchild Emma; his daughter-in-law Lisa Schenning; his sister Agnes Oldewurtel of Baltimore, MD; and his sister-in-law Shirl Althoff (Bob) of Murrells Inlet, SC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
