We announce the death of Wilbert Joseph O'Connell of Hanahan, South Carolina, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 12, 2026, at the age of 88. Wilbert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He is survived by: his wife June O'Connell; his children, Marianne Fiutem (Jeffrey Harbit) of Wadmalaw Island, Partick O'Connell of North Charleston and Wilbert O'Connell of Austin, Texas; and his grandchildren, Isabella Fiutem, Nicolaus Fiutem, Tristan Fiutem, Shaunice Bryson, Angel, Jacob and Vidal O'Connell. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
