He was predeceased by : his mother Dorothy Rachels Harper; his parents-in-law, Ned Thompson, Sr. and Ellen Thompson; and his brother-in-law Ned Thompson Jr.. He is survived by : his wife Sylvia Harper; his father J. W. Harper Jr.; his stepmother Dell Harper; his sister Linda Nease (Dexter); his stepsister Sheila Bryan; his siblings-in-law, LaTrelle Thompson and Herschel Thompson (Sheryl); his nieces, Melinda, Alicia and Tanya; and his nephew Jason.
