With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Arletrice Johnson Smith (Hartsville, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 31, 2025 at the age of 87. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rodney James Johnson and Lillian Johnson; her former husband Perry Orell Smith; her husband John Timothy King, Jr.; her son Todd Smith; and her siblings, Reid Johnson and Pat Atkinson.
She is survived by: her children, Gregory Smith (Carol) of Hartsville, SC and Marsha Smith Van Bibber (Bruce) of Warner Robbins, GA; her stepchildren, Clara Brown (Bill) of Charlotte, NC and Julian King (Mary Alice) of Hartsville, SC; her grandchildren, Chad Gainey of Weston, OH, Anna Spinks (Matthew) of Amarillo, TX, Kayce Smith (Lucia) of Hartsville, SC, Kyle Smith (Brooke) of Hartsville, SC and Kari Boykin (Stephen) of Hartsville, SC; her stepgrandchildren, Heather Hanson (Dana), Hogan VanSickle of Charlotte, NC, Merritt King of Hartsville, SC and Elizabeth King (Betts) of Hartsville, SC; her nephew Michael Webb (Sharon) of Hartsville, SC; and her siblings, R. B. Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, Anne Sprayberry and Elaine Reid. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren.
