It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Hines Quist (Hartsville, South Carolina), who passed away on May 16, 2021, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her mother Thelma Hines; her uncle Edward Ruffin; her son Donald Quist; her sister Betty Walker Collins of St. George, SC; her cousins, Ann Pearson, Qiana Thompson, Quion Thompson, Natalie Ruffin, Bernard Dixon, Deborah Dowdy, James Patterson, Jeannette Ruffin, Mary Frances Jones, Tameka Patterson Brown, Veldria Mellette and Chris Ruffin; and her friends, Joyce Fleming, Carolyn Barber Reid, Jannie Reid, Brenda Prioleau, Debra Edwards, Rev. Frances Stephens Edmonds and Pecolia Grove. She was also cherished by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

For many years she worked with the Hartsville Interfaith Ministries food pantry, fundraised for the Butler Heritage Foundation, and served as treasurer at Centenary United Methodist Church.
