Frances Rivers Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Frances Rivers (Hartsville, South Carolina), who passed away on May 12, 2020 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Frances Rivers was born December 6, 1946 in Hartsville, South Carolina, a daughter of Jessie Rivers, Sr. and Janie Johnson Rivers. She was educated in the public schools of Darlington County. Ms. Rivers was a longtime member of Sandy Grove United Methodist Church where she was very active in many activities and was a member of the Senior Choir. She was employed for many years as a seamstress at Hartsville Manufacturing Company.
Frances was a joy to be around. Her wit, humor, and loving spirit will be the things that her family and friends will miss most about her. She adored her grandchildren and did her best to spoil them as much and as often as possible.
She was preceded in death by both her parents,, Jessie Rivers, Sr and Janie Rivers, her brother, Jessie Rivers, jr.,, and her sisters, Jettie Rivers, Ruth Mae Brown, and Mary Frances Rivers.
Surviving to cherish the memory and continue the legacy of Frances Rivers include her daughters Brenda (Barzel) Mckinney of Fredericksburg, VA and Rachel and (Delmonte) Arthur of Hartsville SC; her son Brian (Timiyan Tart-Washington) of Salisbury, NC; her grandchildren Erica (Darral) Mason, Brandon Rivers, Lenaldre Humphries, Davis Pooler Jr., Nalonel Rivers-Washington, and Treneseia Mckinney; her great grandchildren, Leah Mason, Mya Mason, Laila Johnson, Noah Pooler, Thecla Mazik, Nab Mazik and Brittani Mckinney; her niece, Marie (David) Goodson; her close friends of the family, Margret Robinson and Keith Larry; other relatives and very close friends.
