It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Michael Dees (Hartsville, South Carolina), born in Darlington, South Carolina, who passed away on April 27, 2021, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Leroy Dees and Mary Grace Helms Dees. He is survived by: his wife Penny McLaughlin Dees of Hartsville, SC; his children, James Michael Dees Jr. of Hartsville, SC and Sabrina Dees of Darlington, SC; his sisters, Patsy Steen of Myrtle Beach, SC, Barbara James of Hartsville, SC, Jane Hendrix of Hartsville, SC, Nancy Powers of Florence, SC and Betty Dill of New York; and his grandchild Bristol Locklear.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to McLeod Hospice House, 1203 E. Cheves Street, Florence, SC 29506.
