He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Howard Kirkland and Carrie Lee Butler Kirkland; his daughter Rebecca Kirkland; and his wife Janie Kirkland. He is survived by: his children, Daniele Owens (David), Dewey Kirkland (Stephanie Baily), Charles Leonard, Michael Leonard, Eli Kirkland and Nick Kirkland; his grandchildren, Julian Kirkland, Wyatt Kirkland, Courtney Kirkland-Howle (Caleb), Rebecca Owens, Haylee Owens and Marissa Owens; his great grandchild Kolten Kirkland Howle; his brother Hiram Kirkland; his niece Glinda Dixon; and his pets, Sammy, Rosie, Harley, Cricket and Josie.
As an organ donor, Danny's legacy extends beyond his years; in his passing, he bestowed the gift of life through the donation of both kidneys, a testament to his selflessness and commitment to others.
