He is survived by: his mother Lucy King Kelley; his wife Claudette Byrd Gainey; his stepfather Willie L. Kelley; his daughters, Ashley Gainey and Renea Warren (Joey); his stepchildren, Candace Parker (Brett) and Justin Davis (Meg); his siblings, Norma Moree (Bobby) and Harold "Buddy" Gainey (Darlene); his mother-in-law Ethel; his grandchildren, Hunter Gainey, Cole Gainey, Hannah Warren, Hadlee Warren, Emalee Warren and Ashlyn Warren; and his stepgrandchildren, Jameson Parker, Paisley Davis, Brook Catoe (Michael) and Lathan Anderson.

Visitation was held on Sunday, August 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home (1414 W Carolina Ave, Hartsville, SC 29550). A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 24th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
