He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Junior "Bob" Connell and Alice Joy Welch Connell; his wives, Linda Connell and Lenora Connell; and his siblings, Roger Connell and Shelle Alsip.

He is survived by: his brother David Connell (Zelda); his daughters, Angela Schleich (Robert) and Virginia Sanders; his grandchildren, Patrick Bunce (Tylema), Katherine Byrd (Matthew) and Virginia Schleich; and his great grandchildren, Aria Bohm, Grace Overbay and John Michael Corely.
