He was predeceased by: his parents, Giff Carpenter and Jennie Lee Allen Carpenter; his son Glen Carpenter; his sister Libby Huneycutt; his grandchildren, Dawn Carpenter, Jennings Watford and Connie Griffitts; and his son-in-law Layton Rubin Miles.
He is survived by: his spouse Milladeen Parker Carpenter. He is also survived by forty-three great grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family as requested memorials be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital or a Charity of ones choice.
