He is survived by: his wife Janet Lynne Sims; his pet Susie; and his sisters, Jean Wright (Steve) and Betty Cauthen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fork Hill Baptist Church (1125 Fork Hill Rd, Heath Springs, SC 29058). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 3:45 PM to 4:00 PM at the Fork Hill Baptist Church Cemetery (1125 Fork Hill Rd, Heath Springs, SC 29058).
