He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman C. Nettles and Kathleen Stone Norton. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Tyler Nettles; his children, Adrian Filyaw (Gerald) and Mendal Nettles, Jr. (Laurel); his grandchildren, Ethan Jacobs, Hayden Jacobs, Madison Filyaw, Esme Filyaw, Emily Nettles and Charlie Nettles; and his brothers, Norman "Rocky" Nettles (Ruby), Steve Nettles (Dawn) and Ronnie Nettles (Liz). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
