He is survived by: his wife Lauri McElhone Van Niel; his son Todd (Patty) of Cleveland; his grandson Alex of Columbus; his children, Joy of Salem and Trace of Newark, Ohio.; his brother-in-law Britt McElhone; his nephews, Brad (Jenna) and Bruce (Jamie); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Colin of Fort Myers, Florida., Kaylee of Fort Myers, Florida. and Brynlee of Fort Myers, Florida..
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sea Catholic Church (45 Beach City Rd, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hilton Head Humane Society.
