He is survived by: his wife Mary Frances Wooten Murdaugh; his children, Brian Murdaugh (Angie) of Bluffton, Felicia Murdaugh Barnes (Ben) of Bluffton and Faye Murdaugh Dagley (Walter) of Lady's Island; his grandchildren, Walter Steven Dagley, Grace Murdaugh, Nathan Murdaugh and Brayden Barnes; and his siblings, Loraine Ferguson of Beaufort and Franklin Murdaugh of Hampton.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, Hampton Chapel (300 Mulberry St W, Hampton, SC 29924). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sand Hill Baptist Church (15480 Pocotaligo Rd, Varnville, SC 29944).
