Robert leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Robert’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Robert will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Schweickart and Erwin Schweickart; and his brother Richard Schweickart. He is survived by: his wife Karen Guhra; his daughters, Christine (Patrick) and Janine (Michael); and his grandchildren, Peyton, Madeleine, Elisabeth, Charlotte, Meredith and Catherine.
A Mass will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (24 Pope Ave, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Beaufort National Cemetery (1601 Boundary St, Beaufort, SC 29902).
