He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyce Madden and Janie Kernells Madden; and his siblings, Billy Ray Madden and Dorothy Nabors. He is survived by: his children, Lawrence Michael "Mike" Kernells of Hodges and Mot Smothers (Johnny) of Donalds; his grandchildren, Michelle Millwood (Joseph), Laurie Hurley (Danny) and John Smothers; his great grandchildren, Cayden Kernells, Scott Smothers, Justin Phillips, Michael Smothers and Grace Boland; and his great great grandchildren, Josie, Colton, Evan and Asher.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
