Roberts and Myrtle Olivent Roberts; his children, Elizabeth Aleo (James) of Greenwood, Suzanne Roberts of Greenwood and James Lafayette Roberts, Jr. (Patty) of Tallahassee, Florida; his sister Judy Herring of Dothan, Alabama; his grandchildren, Hollyanne Aleo, David Aleo (Sam Gulamali), Alexander Aleo (Brittany) and Evan Aleo (Airen Pokorski); and his great grandchildren, Kathryn Aleo, Madelyn Aleo, Jamelyn Aleo and Zooni Gulamali. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
