He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon E. Payne and Eula Mae Still Payne; and his siblings, George L. Bryan and Mary Helen Able. He is survived by: his sons, Jamie Payne of Greenwood and Kenny Payne of Greenwood; his stepchildren, Keller McGovern (Rachel) of Hodges and Britney McGovern (Koby Moore) of Greenwood; and his brother Charles Preston Payne, Sr. of Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
